Who I Am

Growing up, I was always around a camera of some kind. My earliest memories are with my mother holding a video camera. My mother has shown me hundreds maybe even thousands of home movies of myself and my siblings growing up. We spent many summers in LA with my mother’s uncle who was a photographer from New York. My mother learned a lot from him and through my earlier years as a child, she would take it upon herself to use those lessons to take photos of us with her DSLR anywhere and everywhere we were. At some point, I got sick of being in front of the camera and started hating when she said, “hold on, let’s take a photo.” Though some years later I attended Grand Canyon University for Advertising and Graphic Design and it changed my life. The second year of college I enrolled in Digital Photography I and around halfway through the course I found my passion for being behind the camera. I loved making the every day ordinary walk of life become beautiful using the right light or angle. I discovered my passion for finding places around me to explore and create wonder with my camera. I also gained a love for portraits and candid photography; my belief being, when the subject is in their natural element, it creates the best photo.
